His gaze investigates and reinterprets the art of Michelangelo Buonarroti, highlighting abstraction and material detail. It is an invitation to discover the aniconic soul of Michelangelo\u2019s sculptures.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"373\" data-end=\"982\">His images reveal extraordinary details\u2014as seen in the <em data-start=\"428\" data-end=\"435\">Piet\u00e0<\/em>, where the polished surfaces seem to melt into wax under a warm, enveloping light, enhancing a timeless beauty. Similarly, his shots of the <em data-start=\"576\" data-end=\"591\">Piet\u00e0 Bandini<\/em>, recently restored, capture its regained magnificence. Called not only to document the outcome of the restoration, but also to reinterpret the work, Amendola produced photographs that reflect the Renaissance sculptor\u2019s deep sensitivity to material and light.
